Octopus for a Preemie UK

Updated: Aug 26, 2019

I came across this pattern whilst I was searching for charity crochet groups. It's such a cute pattern and all the octopuses go to comfort premature babies.

The octopuses go in the incubator with the baby and they are less likely to pull at the tubes as they hold on to the tentacles instead.

After joining the Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/octopusforapreemie/ and printing off the pattern I discovered there are strict rules to follow. Each octopus is sent to a local coordinator for checking before being passed to your nearest hospital.

My first attempt didn't quite pass, but my lovely coordinator was very supportive and gave me some helpful tips.

I was determined to get it right and my second attempt swam off to a preemie.

If you want to find out more head over to their website http://octopusforapreemie.com/

I would love to hear which charities you crochet for.
